Dojo Etiquette

1. All students entering the dojo floor should request permission to enter, and wait until permission is granted. This rule is required by Black Belts as well.
2. All students are required to wear full white uniform with belt rank and a white tee shirt under the uniform.
3. The ASKD instructor on the dojo floor with the highest rank is always in charge of the dojo floor.
4. Students, upon being granted permission to enter the dojo floor must stretch and warm up to reduce risk of joint sprain or muscle strain. After stretching, students should practice basics and kata until class starts.
5. Please try to keep the talking down during warm-up; there is no talking while class is in session.
6. Please show respect for all other dojo members and visitors.
7. Students and Black Belts, regardless of rank, are reminded not to explain or interfere with instructions given to a student by the Chief Instructor or the Head Instructor.
8. All students are reminded to keep the locker room and waiting area of the dojo clean. Refreshments and food are not permitted on the dojo floor.
9. Students on the dojo floor are not permitted to talk to people in the waiting area.
10. There is no talking during meditation. Talking is only permitted when you are instructed to say the Dojo Kun.
